The legend of Sombre Oak Tombs
Several years ago, around 1987 or so, a young woman was found walking through Sombre Oak Tombs. The person who noticed her thought it was a bit odd that she was outside so late, walking through the cemetery. He hesitated slightly, wondering what was going on, before going over to her and trying to talk to her. When he did, though, he noticed that she didn't answer him. He also noticed that she seemed to be in some kind of trance.
After some time, she stopped walking, stood outside the cemetery mausoleum for a short time and then fainted. Some time later, he'd brought her to the hospital, not really sure what else to do, and told them what had happened. Even though it was a strange occurrence, it was the only time something like that had happened.
That is, until a few months later, when it happened again and then again about a year later. No one knew why this was happening. The strange thing too was that all the women who ended up in Sombre Oak Tombs lived in the same house. Another strange thing was that, at one point, all three of the women disappeared without a trace.
Some of the townspeople from Sombre Oak speculated that, for some reason, the women had been brought to or ended up in the Sombre Oak woods. Others were just creeped out by the whole situation, not sure what to think. The house on Shadow Brook Ave, the one that always seemed to loom over everything, stayed vacant for several years, until one day someone new moved in. This happened several times over the years, until it stayed and remained vacant. The townspeople of Sombre Oak hope that it stays that way, but doubt it.
